Job Description:

Under the Workforce Development Division, the Adult Learning Programat GLCAC, Inc. helpsindividuals learn basiceducation skills, includingEnglish,needed for day-to-day living andtoincreaseopportunitiesforemployment,toattain financial stability.GLCAC is seekingan experienced,well-organized,instructor of ESOL and adult learning. Experience must include both in-person and online teaching familiarity.Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English thatmeetsMassachusettsstate and federal standards(MA ELPS)in the GLACsadult learningprogram.Develop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategiesto address the varied learning styles.Addresses all aspects of communication through appropriate instruction that develops each students ability to read, write, speak and listen in the appropriate content area.Maintain complete and accurate records of student progress and evidence of growth and progress.Supervise students participation while in the program and refer them to appropriate resources.Adaptprogramcurriculum to provide individual, small group,and/or remedial instruction to meet the needs of individual students.Establish and maintain standards of student behavior required to run an orderly and productive classroom environment.Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes andinterestsof students.Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement.Oversee assigned out-of-classroom activities as needed.Participate in periodicstaff meetings and training.Skills & Qualifications:Bachelors degree intherelated fieldof teachingFive years of experience teaching adults and classroom managementExperience in online classroom teaching and managementExcellent organizational and communication skillsThe ability to incorporate current technology into the classroom environment for both in-person and online teachingEnglish native speakerTESOL certification preferredOther:Supervisory Responsibility:None independent contractor positionTravel:May be requiredWork Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets,andfax machines.Powered by JazzHR
