Job Description:

Blazerworks is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Director of Special Education to work in partnership with a school district in Lawrence, MA. Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Special Education in managing the special education programs of the district.
• Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.
• Oversee the coordination of special education services, including but not limited to, staffing, scheduling, and compliance.
• Work collaboratively with district staff and families to ensure that students with disabilities have access to a free and appropriate public education.
• Attend team meetings, parent conferences, and other meetings as necessary.
• Assist in the supervision and evaluation of special education staff.
• Ensure that all special education programs comply with state and federal laws and regulations. Requirements:
  • Master's degree in special education or related field.
  • Valid Massachusetts licensure as an Administrator of Special Education (required).
  • Minimum of three years of experience in special education.
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities. >
