Director, Product ManagementAries Systems Corporation, an

knowledge.About the roleThe Director of Product Management will own
Aries Systems--- product suite, including Editorial Manager,
ProduXion Manager, and LiXuid Manuscript. He/she will set the
agenda for all Aries products, drive program execution, and propose
new business or product strategies. This individual will report to
the Managing Director of Aries Systems and will have direct
management responsibility for product managers, including
responsibility for their recruitment and
development.Responsibilities include:Customer FocusInteracts with
customers frequently and understands their use cases and business
in great depth.Thoroughly understands competitive products and
strategy, and how they influence customer decisions.Balances
organizational needs with customer needs and creates a strategic
plan for the organization.Predicts trends within customer
segmentsInteracts with other companies in our industry and engages
with start-ups.Participates in industry conferences and customer
meetings to gain insight into customer needs and discuss Aries
development strategy.Data Driven Decision-Making &
AnalysisEvaluates intangible and/or cross-business implications of
strategic decisions.Is skilled in breaking down large complex
issues into simpler elements that can be effectively
addressed.Establishes aggressive KPIs for the team to measure
success.Leads teams to make decisions where quantitative data is
unavailable.Go to Market & Product Market LifecycleDevelops go to
market strategy and launch plans at the product level and is
accountable for coordinated execution across product, sales,
marketing and client services.Ensures ROI for go to market
strategy, including revenue goals.Develops appropriate metrics and
tracking of launch initiatives and ensures reporting to
stakeholders.Anticipates market changes; adapts and adjusts product
strategy as needed.Product Delivery & Development LifecycleActively
gathers data from multiple sources (customer, market, revenue,
etc.) to drive effective solutions to business problems and
strategic issuesOversees the strategy, planning and execution.Is a
thought leader and innovator for Aries products.Understands product
development in the context of the scholarly publishing
industry.Strategy & Commercial AcumenDefines and articulates a
clear product strategy.Leads activities to test parts of the
product vision and strategy with customers, modifying the strategy
as needed.Mentors managers on how to maintain a strategic,
customer-driven perspective within their teamsMakes reasonable
revenue projections with stated assumptionsGathers a wide range of
information from internal and external sources to drive
commercially viable decisions for the products and
organization.Proactively takes steps to capitalize on product
opportunities presented by the market position.Tracks and analyzes
product expenses, cost to revenue and profitability.Technical
SkillsHas a unique history and/or expertise in workflow solutions
and scholarly publishingIs an expert in new technologies as

and a track record of managing a successful suite of products,
preferably in the scholarly publishing space, that meet growth
commitments.Track record of hiring and developing product
management talent.Knowledge of and experience with Agile
development methodologies. Experience in leading a transition from
waterfall to agile development a plus.Education Bachelors or
Masters degree in a related field. MBA or management degree
