team!SUMMARYThe Control Room Manager is responsible for management
and oversight of the real time remote operations of renewable
generating assets performed by the Operations Center, assuring
Dispatcher and Distributed Generation Operator (DGO) performance,
quality, and adherence to Nexamp, NERC, and Industry standards with
safe and efficient operations.The function of the Control Room
Manager responsibilities includes managing the coordination of
shift work schedules for Dispatchers, enforcing company policies,
managing overtime and resource usage in the Operations Center, and
performing on-call duties as needed to support the 24x7 operation.
The Control Room Manager will also maintain proficiency and
qualifications of Dispatchers and assist the Dispatchers operating
the renewable generating assets when needed in the performance of
real-time operations duties, both for normal conditions as well as
emergencies.RESPONSIBILITIESMentor and manage the DGOs and
Dispatchers providing guidance and leadership in support of
personnel growth and performance improvementProvide real-time and
non-real-time Quality checks of Dispatcher & DGO
CommunicationsMonitor and analyze the electrical grid operation for
Nexamp power generating facilities and take appropriate actions to
mitigate negative impacts associated with the interruption of
continued energy delivery to the power purchaserProvide leadership
in the development of processes and procedures in the necessary
scheduling and operations of Nexamp's assets & new storage assets
coming into serviceSupporting the development of an internal NERC
Compliance ProgramCoordinate any potential grid operation or power
plant conditions that may impact plant performance with Asset
Management Group to optimize power flows (charge or discharge) and
energy revenues.Coordinate with the appropriate O&M personnel
for outage/maintenance planningManage the Dispatchers, including
scheduling, coverage, overtime management, issue resolution,
performance evaluation input, and identification of training
needs.Coordinate with the Nexamp Energy Center Analysts to ensure
seamless operations through integrations and commissioning of new
plants, upgrades, and enhancementsEnsure & support the preparation
and coordination of training and training materials for the
onboarding of Dispatchers and DGOs, as well as the continuous
training of Dispatchers and DGOs through the management and
coordination of the selected LMS coordination and delivery of
training materials.Acts as the primary interface for non-real-time
third party coordination into the Operations CenterObtain and
maintain any required qualification, certifications or endorsements
to perform job function, as determined by the VP, Operations
Center, while performing the same for the Dispatchers.Responsible
for coordinating the proper validation of Generation Data for
Production Reporting and Revenue RecognitionDetect and report
Operations Center SCADA quality issues or improvement needed, in
coordination with Operations Center Support Services, DPI and the
NECQUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will be detail oriented,
attentive, and a pro-active operator who loves troubleshooting.
Additional requirements are as follows.Bachelor's degree or
demonstrated experience in a Control Room Leadership role5+ years
of relevant work experience, including a supervisory or lead role
in a rotating shift work environmentElectrical system knowledge.
Certification to operate high voltage facilities is a
plus.Experience in power generation, distribution or transmission
will be highly regarded, particularly within renewable
energy.Technologically savvy and experience with a variety of
softwares and databases.Analytical abilities to collect, evaluate
numerical data and complete both internal and external
reportingAbility to adapt to a fast moving and changing work
environment, while managing various priorities and
deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility
to occasionally work 12 hour shiftsFlexibility to occasionally work
outside scheduled timesCurrent or past PJM Certification a
plusExperience with Plant SCADA systems is highly desiredIf you
