Raymond Lean Management SpecialistLawrence, MAAbel Womack has an exciting opportunity for a creative and highly motivated professional to serve as a Toyota Production System (TPS) facilitator in support of our customers' business operations. If you're familiar with TPS and other LEAN management principles and have been involved in initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity and/or cost at an organization, this is a terrific opportunity to advance your skills and provide an essential service to our customers who are looking to streamline and improve the quality of their material handling operations.Working under the mentorship of our internal TPS expert, the Lean Management Specialist will apply knowledge and demonstrated expertise in lean and TPS methodologies to identify, develop, implement, and sustain process improvement initiatives that deliver long-term, breakthrough results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and cost for our customers.Responsibilities include:Visiting potential and current customer sites, providing Continuous Improvement assessments.Attaining expertise and applying knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS) tools including 5S, JIT, Kanban, A3, material and information flow charts, standardized work, value stream mapping, line balancing charts, lead-time maps, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), PDCAWorking on-site at various customer locations to identify and segregate problems that can be addressed through the implementation of TPS tools.Performing diverse assignments as part of delivering a successful project, to include capturing current state activity, completing appropriate analysis of operations, defining problems, and proposing and implementing countermeasures to improve key performance indicators related to customer's performance and material flow.Participating, planning, coordinating and/or conducting complex continuous improvement projects or project segments leveraging TPS methodologies that typically have multi-department impact.Mentoring/coaching customers' managers and employees, sharing job specific knowledge. Encouraging training and development opportunities.Providing technical information to others and may have limited responsibility for direction of others.Collaborating with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy during content and material development and updating processes.Creating and supporting an environment that fosters and supports continuous improvement and demonstrates a sense of urgency that results in a commitment to quality results.Facilitating and educating customers on a wide variety of TPS topics, helping them understand how to apply and model the TPS methodology to the actual work environment.Breaks down organizational barriers by promoting an environment of collaboration, trust, and professional relationships.Demonstrating a high level of commitment to teamwork and cross-functional team involvement.Providing feedback on training experiences with a focus on findings for improvement and enhancement of training offerings.May lead multiple projects simultaneously.Local travel is required (projected at 25% overall)QUALIFICATIONSYour passion for providing top-notch customer service makes you well qualified for this newly created position. We also seek:Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or applicable engineering field.1-3 years prior relevant work experience, preferred. Relevant internship experience will be highly regarded, particularly in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.Prior experience working on initiatives to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity or Cost, required.Demonstrated knowledge and application of Toyota Production System (TPS) tools tools including: 5S, JIT, Kanban, material and information flow charts, standardized work, value stream mapping, line balancing charts, lead-time maps, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), PDCA, preferred.Ability to work on real world problems and solutions in a cross-functional team environment.Experience in a TPS/Lean environment is a plus.You demonstrate:Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skillsSelf-motivation and drive and are an individual who possesses high quality standardsExcellent organizational and time management skills to balance simultaneous requestsAbility to work with minimal supervision, a strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail.A logical approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.An ability to explain TPS concepts and principles in understandable languageNatural curiosity and a passion for problem-solvingDemonstrated ability to work as a value-add member of a teamABOUT USAbel Womack is the market leader in the design, implementation, and service of complete material handling solutions, with 3 offices in the Northeast and partners throughout the US.
