Hiring for a Nurse Supervisor for a hospital in Lawrence, MA.
MUST have a minimum of 2 years recent Nurse Supervisor/Management experience in a hospital setting
Pay rate: $90/hr
Night shift 7PM-7:30AM 36 hours/week (every other weekend/every other holiday required)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: --- Refers problems to respective unit managers for follow up. --- Acts as liaison to assigned nursing units. --- Assesses unit activity through communication with staff and by making unit rounds. --- Demonstrates knowledge of safety, legal and regulatory issues that affect the staff, patients, physicians and public. Provides suitable documentation and follow through. --- Demonstrates system awareness and its impact on patient care. --- Implements, evaluates and makes appropriate decisions regarding staffing levels within the bounds of fiscal framework, staff competency and in accordance with activity and acuity levels. --- Provides leadership and direction to charge nurses and staff to ensure optimum use of resources including crises and emergencies. --- Consults with administrator on call and follows through with appropriate documentation when necessary. --- Coordinates activities/needs of non-nursing hospital departments as necessary (i.e. Pharmacy, Dietary, Housekeeping). --- Serves as a resource for the timely and appropriate placement of patient admissions and transfers. --- Serves as clinical resource person and clinical role model for other nursing personnel. --- Identifies need for staff education and patient care policy revision and makes recommendations to appropriate party. --- Actively serves on hospital committees as assigned and assumes chairperson role when indicated. --- Other duties as assigned.
