Job Description:
Innovative Autism Connections is currently seeking bilingual
staff who are able to speak the following languages: English and
Spanish English and Portuguese $500 Employee Incentive Program The
ABA Behavioral Technician/Therapist (BT) will provide one-to-one
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) based clinical skills instruction
and implement individualized client maladaptive behavior reduction
programs based upon the principles of ABA to children who have been
diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or related a
related developmental disability in the home, community, and
school-based settings. The ABA BT will collect data on all client
skill acquisition and maladaptive behavior reduction programming,
assist with the implementation of client parent/caregiver/legal
guardian training, as well as support the Behavior Analyst
Clinician and Lead ABA BT in the implementation of client direct
skill-based assessments as needed. The ABA BT will be responsible
for implementing the duties of the Lead ABA BT in their temporary
absence. Essential components of this position are listed below but
are subject to change at the sole discretion of Innovative Autism
Connections (IAC), LLCs administrative team. This job description
describes the ABA BTs essential job duties, but does not provide an
exhaustive list of responsibilities that will be assigned to the
ABA BT on a case by case basis. The specific duties &
responsibilities of the ABA BT will vary depending on each
individual clients needs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Provide
client direct one-to-one ABA based instruction and care within the
home, school, and community setting by utilizing a combination of
intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and maladaptive
behavior reduction programs and protocols. Follow and record data
for each of the clients individualized skill acquisition program
and individualized maladaptive behavior support plans. Collect,
record, and summarize data on observable client behavior. Assist
with the implementation of client parent/caregiver and/or client
legal guardian training that is in line with the clients
individualized ABA Treatment Plan and individualized maladaptive
behavior reduction protocols. Effectively communicate with parents
and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by their
assigned IAC Behavior Analyst Clinician Supervisor and Lead ABA BT.
Utilize safe and appropriate prompting and guidance procedures when
working with IAC clients. Maintain client confidentiality. Assist
Lead ABA BTs and Behavior Analyst Clinician Supervisors with the
clients skill acquisition and functional behavior assessments.
Assist Lead ABA BTs and Behavior Analyst Clinician Supervisors with
the preparation of individualized client program materials as
instructed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and
treatment environment. Assume the Lead ABA BTs responsibilities in
their temporary absence. Collaborate with all client treatment team
members, which will include the client, the clients
parents/caregivers and/or legal guardians, other client treatment
providers, Lead ABA BTs, Behavior Analyst Clinician Supervisors,
and IAC co-workers, as well any other members involved in the
clients care or treatment. Maintain and acquire technical knowledge
by attending required IAC trainings. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to accept constructive feedback regarding job performance.
Ability to be trained to fluently on various ABA treatment
programs, protocols, and techniques by demonstrating verbal and
written competence, explanation, modeling, guided practice, and
demonstration of independent performance. Ability to develop
knowledge and skills according to constructive feedback provided.
Effective time management skills, as well as the ability to manage
multiple tasks at one time. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain professional
relationships with clients, client families, co-workers,
supervisors, and community members. Ability to adhere to IAC
organizational policies and procedures and abide by the Ethical and
Professional Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts, as indicated by
the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Commitment to
maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA laws.
Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to the
development of ABA clinical treatment skills, professional
development, ethical compliance, technology, and training in order
to perform ABA BT job responsibilities and duties to IACs standard
level of care. Ability to interpret and implement written ABA
clinical treatment programs and protocols. Must maintain a
professional appearance in regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and
makeup. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: High School Diploma,
as well as must have completed 60-hours of college coursework from
an accredited university. 6-months of experience delivering ABA
treatment services may be substituted for 60-hours of completed
accredited college coursework PREFERRED: Bachelors or Masters
Degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA),
Speech and Language Treatment Services, Hearing Services, or
another related field of study. Experience working with children
ages 0-21 providing one-to-one ABA based treatment services;
experience implementing the principles, methods, and procedures of
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA); and/or Educational, Speech, or
Allied Mental Health Treatment Services experience. BASIC &
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must
be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment. Must be
able to assume and maintain a variety of postures including,
kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, or standing for extended
periods of time. Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for
extended periods of time. Must be willing and able to restrain,
hold, transport, and utilize quick body movements, as indicated by
each clients Individualized Behavior Support Plans (IBSPs) in the
course of working with clients who display challenging behaviors.
Must have the manual dexterity needed in order to perform basic
computer and electronic device functions for data collection. Must
be physically present at the assigned job location, which may
include the home, school, and community-based settings. Must be
able to receive detailed information through oral and written
communication. Must have the visual acuity to be able to read and
comprehend written communication provided by computer, electronic
devices, and paper means. Must have reliable transportation, as
well as be willing and able to travel between different job site
locations. Must have a valid Massachusetts Drivers License and good
standing automobile insurance policy in place. REPORTING
RELATIONSHIP: DIRECT EMPLOYMENT SUPERVISOR: Client Behavior Analyst
Clinician Case Supervisor RELATED TRAINING: Responsible for
successfully completing and maintaining all IAC required trainings
once employed including, but not limited to Registered Behavior
Technician Training; HIPPA Training; Mandated Reporter Training;
Safety Care Training, CPR and First Aid; Fingerprinting & National
Background Checks, as well as any other IAC in-service trainings as
directed by an assigned IAC Behavior Analyst Clinician Supervisor.
