Minimum of 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience License:
Required RN License (Proof of State Residency Required)
Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Chest tubes - Tubes - Drips such
as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone - Lines,
tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients - Trachs and
laryngectomies - Telemetry - Complex wounds - Central lines - care
and maintenance and blood draws Description: MedSurg RN needed for
a busy adult surgical unit that primarily cares for trauma and
acute care surgical patients. This unit includes negative pressure
rooms that accommodate COVID-19 patients. The highest priority is
rehabilitating and supporting patient needs. Common diagnoses
include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and
orthopedic injuries resulting from trauma. Acute care surgical
diagnoses include hernia repair, small bowel obstructions,
appendectomy, and cholecystectomy. Experience in a fast-paced
medical surgical unit is preferred, with Level I Trauma center
experience highly regarded. Patient ratios are 1:4 during the day
shift and 1:5 during the night shift. LNA ratios to patients are
1:12.
