Procedural Advanced Practice Practitioner Interventional Radiology opening in Boston, Massachusetts - 10 miles from BostonDetails:FT, permanentSeeking a qualified Advanced Practice Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join a procedural team. Interventional Radiology DepartmentThis is a Monday-Friday position with no weekends, holidays, or call, offering a strong work life balance.The APP will be fully integrated into the operational/procedural APP team and will play a key role in delivering high quality, patient centered interventional care. Responsibilities include independently performing a variety of image guided procedures, such as vascular access device placement, paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, and related procedures, in collaboration with interventional radiologists and multidisciplinary teams.Essential Responsibilities:Performs history and physical examinations, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and provides education to patients and their families.Acts as an educator and serves as a clinical resource for staff through consultation formal and informal education, review of literature and participation in seminars and conferences.Coordinates the care of patients in order to provide safe, effective, efficient and timely patient centered care. Liaises between visiting nurses, clinical staff and consult services. Care plans and execution of those plans should encompass the entire service to tie the service together. Consults with physicians or surgeons regarding the care of patients for more complex diagnosis.Document clinical encounters clearly, precisely and in a timely manner.Works in a collaborative relationship with other health professional to determine health needs of patients and families. Demonstrates and role models an interdisciplinary collaborate approach to patient care.About Hospital:200+ bed community hospital.Four-time Magnet Status designated.Separate ASC and Endoscopy Suite.Qualifications:Current MA licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician AssistantMinimum of 3-5 years of hands on procedural experience in an acute care or interventional settingDemonstrated ability to work independently in a fast paced, procedural environmentMaster's degree in Physician Assistant required.License Physician Assistant License required, and Registration DPH Drug Control required, and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.0-1 years related work experience required.ARC-PA, NCCPAAmerican Heart Association - Basic Life Support CertificateValid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEAExperience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.Preferred Qualifications:Three to five years experience in a clinical environment.About Location:Life in Boston offers a mix of urban living and access to nature.
