This position requires a desire to embrace the Fine Arts model at St. Paul’s School, which
includes a primary focus on the artist as instructor. Courses in the studio arts work from a foundation built on a thorough
technical introduction to a given medium followed by project-based exercises that meet students’ particular creative
endeavors. The Fine Arts program and the physical arrangements of the studio spaces are designed to encourage

This program seeks an instructor in Painting, Drawing, and Art History for students at both the introductory and
intermediate High School level. Experience with watercolor and oil painting is essential. Faculty members in the Fine Arts
Program value collegiality; candidates for a Fine Arts position must be willing to work closely with a team of teachers in
creating and reviewing curriculum. As with all positions, St. Paul’s School seeks innovative educators who are eager to
participate in the academic program of this dynamic residential community.

addition to teaching or administrative responsibilities, faculty at St. Paul’s School are responsible for a variety of activities
typical to the boarding school environment, including advising, dormitory association, coaching, committee work and
other duties.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree (or higher) preferred

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of teaching experience is preferred. As part of residential boarding school, the candidate must
be committed to working and living with adolescents and supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth.
SALARY: Competitive, based on experience.
