The Department of Career Services (DCS) oversees the Commonwealth's network of One-Stop Career Centers, that assist businesses in finding qualified workers and providing job seekers with career guidance, as well as referral to jobs and training. DCS strengthens the Career Center system through continuous improvement processes, and innovative business practices that maximize resources, foster partnerships, and engage employers to ensure a skilled, motivated, and adaptable workforce capable of meeting the emerging labor market needs of the Commonwealth, now and in the future.The Program Coordinator oversees the Rapid Response set aside process as the Manager's designee, provides Rapid Response Set Aside program information, responds to questions, and attempts to address or resolve issues; reports important outcomes to Rapid Response Manager, and provides follow-up as directed; coordinates important communications within DCS and externals directed to the Rapid Response Manager in his absence; prioritizes communications and involves Rapid Response Coordinator and Manager or other staff accordingly in order to assure continuity of services or assistance.The Program Coordinator assists the Rapid Response Program Coordinator in providing direct services to businesses and their employees during the business cycle of layoff aversion, layoffs or plant closings; assists employees who are or are about to be dislocated with job-search assistance; conducts informational sessions including information about UI, Trade, NDWG, RRSA and job search workshops on businesses' premises; assists Rapid Response Coordinator on providing pre-layoff services information to other partner or stakeholder agencies; union officials when applicable disseminates information on Career Center eligibility and services to community organizations; keeps client and business records accurately in MOSES database to facilitate reporting. The incumbent creates and maintains files and records required for WIOA reporting on all client contacts and services rendered; enters client information into established database; receives or collects all physical ("hard copy") records; generates monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for managers and funding sources. Must be able to work 24/7 including weekends. When the Rapid Response workload permits, this incumbent actively participates as part of the Employer Services team at the base Career Center to outreach to the local business community and market career center services Assist in the development/coordination of the Mass BizWorks program, schedules meetings, takes minutes and runs key reports for the unit or agency; performs other work as assigned.First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.Substitutions:I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience.*II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.*III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.** Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.An Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
