Job Description:

he Facility Worker will be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of various GLCAC sites and classrooms. This position will maintain grounds, assist with trash disposal, conduct inspections and track inventory as well and perform a variety on maintenance duties. Schedule is Noon to 8:00 PM - Monday thru Friday. Flexible hours are available. Covid Vaccine Requirement: Must have evidence of full COVID-19 immunization or must request and receive approval for a religious or medical exemption. Opens and/or closes assigned center(s) in morning and/or evening. Cleans and maintains all rooms of assigned center(s), including office space, hallways, bathrooms, stairwells and classrooms plus common areas of the assigned area or building. Assures proper disposal of garbage/trash. Maintains grounds and playgrounds including snow and ice removal as needed. Assists center staff with set-up and storage of gross motor equipment on daily basis and with classroom/center equipment when so assigned. Conducts regular inspections at assigned sites to ensure on-going safety of facility. Tracks inventory of maintenance supplies and assists with procurement procedures as assigned. Serves as back up for other site facility staff with large or emergency maintenance projects. Assists with maintenance duties at other sites when assigned. Assists with delivery of food program meals/supplies and of program equipment/supplies as assigned. Assists with other cross component duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge of methods and practices used in janitorial or custodial work. Knowledge of basic maintenance of buildings. Good mechanical and maintenance skills. Valid Massachusetts driver---s license. Ability to work and communicate with administrative as well as center---s staff. Ability to do moderate to heavy lifting. Use of own vehicle as a means of transportation. Bilingual English/Spanish. Show documented proof of current physical exam, negative TB test, and proof of MMR immunity. (Hepatitis B immunity is advisable). Must have suitable CORI, SORI,& DCF background.
