** $2,500 SIGN-ON BONUS after 90 days of employment**Bulger Veterinary Hospital is looking to hire a Veterinary Technician - Cardiology to join our team in Lawrence, Massachusetts.About the Job: Our Technicians work closely with the cardiologist to assist in their appointments and procedures. They will provide support and customized care of our client and patients.Responsibilities:Assist with consults in the exam roomsTake historyRecord information in client/patient medical record during examPresent treatment plans and explain procedures to clients as neededExplain medications, discharge instructions and treatments with the owners to assure they understand the doctors instructionsAssist with cardiac proceduresBecome proficient in the use and care of specialized cardiac Communicate daily with the treatment technicians regarding the care of hospitalized cardiac patients to ensure completion of scheduled treatments.Provide updates on cardiac patients to their owners as necessaryEnsure cleanliness and maintain areas and equipmentMaintain stock in the exam roomsAssist with follow up phone calls as neededPerform other duties as assignedSkills and Experience:Minimum of 3 years experience as a practicing veterinary technicianComprehensive understand and experience with anesthetic monitoring is requiredAbility to become well versed in Veterinary Cardiology in order to provide best medicine and ensure effective client communicationThe Cardiology technician:Must be reliable, organized, and adaptable to changes within the departments of the hospitalWill maintain a high standard of patient careMust be able to communicate well with clients by showing care and concern for them as well as their pet(s)Will serve as a representative of the hospital, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, clients, and hospital staffEducation, License and Job Requirements: Candidates with an Associates or Bachelors degree in Veterinary Technology will be considered.CVT, LVT, or VTS preferredAbility to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.Maintain a positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.Schedule - full time hours including a weekend shift in emergency, up to 3 holiday shiftsAbout Bulger Veterinary Hospital: Bulger is a full-service hospital that offers comprehensive care that includes General Practice, 24-hour Emergency Services, and Specialty Medicine in the areas of Ophthalmology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Exotics and Cardiology.Benefits of Working at Bulger Veterinary Hospital:Compensation is based on experience and skill level.
