About the role Sana Biotechnology is growing, and we are hiring
new team members who believe in the potential of engineered cells
as medicines, who want to challenge status quo, and who lead with
the desire to work on novel ideas. You will join the Beta Islet
Team at the Cambridge location to perform and execute routine stem
cell (SC)-islets differentiation. As a Principal Research
Associate, you will perform experiments critical to the program’s
product development. The ideal candidate should have extensive
experiences on large scale directed PSC differentiation. This role
will work closely with the cell manufacturing team to adapt the
methods for clinical scale. The ability to work in a highly
collaborative environment and learn from each other will be
essential to your success. The position reports to the Senior
Scientist of the Beta Islet Team. What you’ll do Lab-based role
focused on culture and differentiation of pluripotent stem cells
Analysis of differentiated cell product – flow cytometry, PCR,
fluorescent microscopy Participate in design and execution of
experiments critical for SC-451 product development Document
experiments, analyze data, prepare summaries Experience bridging
between R&D and PD is a plus Maintain excellent scientific
documentation and contribute to SOP development Assuring compliance
with all relevant lab safety and biosafety regulations Demonstrate

What we’re looking for MSc or BSc in Stem cell biology,
biochemical/biomedical Engineering or related fields with 2-4 years
(MSc) or 3-5 years (BSc) of direct cell therapy industry experience
Experienced in cryopreservation and handling large-scale directed
differentiations Significantly experienced in Flow cytometry,
Immunofluorescent staining Proficient with standard flow cytometry
and imaging software (e.g. FACSDiva, FlowJo, ImageJ, etc.) Working
safely in person on a predictable and regular in-person basis is an
essential job function for this position What you should know The
base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is
expected to be between $105,000 and $125,000/year; however, base
pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors,
including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and
